Lighting – Part II

A few months ago I updated the zed’s head lights to LEDs (see previous post) and I’m really happy with them.  I also transferred the driving light brackets and halogen Hella FF50 driving lights from my old zed.  The Hella driving lights were only a temporary solution until I found a better / newer driving…

Group riding

I don’t do group rides. For those who have read or follow my blog over the years know that most of the rides I do are long distance or with a few friends.  However I stumbled across a local group of riders – Fat Bastards Riding Club – who intrigued me and when they advertised a…

Not Happy Jan!

What’s wrong with this picture? That’s right – my camping gear is sitting in my lounge room and not strapped to the back of my bike! I was so looking forward to getting away on the bike this weekend, meeting up with friends in a far flung town, camping, enjoying a beer and shooting the breeze.…

The plan consisted of three corners, (Dubbo, Cobar, and Hay) a meeting location and a time.  That’s it.…

Lighting – Making night into day

Long distance riders do a lot of riding at night.  And with the constant threat of wildlife and other road hazards, lights are a very important part of a riders standard equipment. My standard approach to improving a bike’s lighting is to first upgrade the existing lighting and then assess what additional lighting is required…
