IBA Rides

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

When talking about the sport of long distance or endurance riding it is not long before the the Iron Butt Association (IBA) is brought up.  The IBA is dedicated to safe, long-distance motorcycle riding based in the United States but with members all over the world.  To become a member of the IBA you must first complete and document a minimum ride distance of 1,000 miles (1,600km) in a 24 hour period.  A full list of the rides can be found at this link.

To have a ride certified you need to provide evidence of your route via witness forms (start & finish) and receipts showing the date and time of each of your stops as further proof that you road the route.  For all the rules and evidence requirements please see the following link.

Contrary to what many may think, these rides aren’t about going fast but about managing your time effectively.
